Is there any way to increase or uncap the number of interactions you can have with Android Auto before it locks you out? I really don't think the voice interface is good enough yet, and want the option of clicking around a bit more. It looks like a lot of manufacturers are using the parking brake sensor, but I haven't found a thread about this for the Volt specifically.

I don't have Android Auto so I don't know what you are talking about. I'm responding to you in the hopes that it will inspire someone to intelligently respond.

Meanwhile, can you explain what it is that you are doing in AA that causes the problem you are writing about? An example?

I use Android Auto, but I'm not sure what you mean by locking out.. are you talking about the phone or the head unit in the car? I can be using AA, waze/listening on the phone and still get to my phone apps by using the recent apps button then pressing home. that allows me full access to the apps/phone. Sure it's a little bit of a wonky work around, but it's easy to do on my Note 8.

I use Android Auto a ton and do know what the OP means. Android Auto babysits you by limiting your interactions. If you have a scrolling list, e.g. a list of artists, it will only let you hit the scroll button about twice before saying "LOCKED FOR SAFETY".

Is it something new? I am sure I scrolled a lot on a Spotify list and never had that before.

Android Auto defaults to 6 interactions or screens when the car is in gear. Say for example: In google music, tap the menu button, then Recents, You will be able to hit the scroll down button 4 times before it stops you with a nag. This is true in any of the audio playing applications.

Fairly certain Apple CarPlay has a similar limitation.

The limit is baked into the Android Auto software itself. There is a patch to disable it on some Android phones, provided you can install XPOSED... This generally requires a rooted phone. https://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/modules/mod-sensible-android-autoxposed-t3392550

Hmm, thanks for that work around! I had been unplugging the usb cable when I needed other apps!
