That's pretty neat...but I'd be verrrrrrry cautious to trust it simply because it doesn't have the level of iteration and perfection that Google, Tesla, Audi, etc have. Google especially has done so much testing and reiteration on their design that it's estimated each Google car has the equivalent driving experience/skill as an average adult human who has been driving for 50 years.

I wonder how it hooks into the accelerator, brakes, and steering...does it have mechanical parts that need to be installed or does it do CAN bus hacking to hijack the cruise control and LKA functions to control speed and steering?

GM did say they would deploy autonomous Volts at their (closed to the public) MI campus...

Considering the MY18 CT6 does not even include Supercruise it's possible that it'll be delayed again...Sounds doubtful anyone would be able to purchase a current Gen Volt or Bolt that'll be autonomous...

It's still reactive instead of predictive, ping ponging in the lane, albeit less than the current lane keep assist. It needs to keep the car centered in the lane instead of waiting for the car to approach the lane edge before correcting.

Early stages, he is constantly adjusting the steering wheel, so thats a FAIL.
Nice that its getting closer but no where near true autonomous.
The Volvo manager said it would be 20 years before true autonomous cars
are on the road where they can drive themselves, and that sounds about right.
Hmm would I get a driver license for the car, then I can get rid of mine, I could
handle that.

As another noticed he is constantly correcting steering wheel, most likely sensors were compromised do to the weather conditions and or windshield wipers. So the system maybe great if you live in a desert, but in real world conditions where a storm could erupt at any time you want confidence that the system will work in all conditions. In short there are still a number of bugs in the system.
