Well the car itself is new. I'm still traveling to get it and am almost there. Until then I'm an almost new 2017 owner. I'll update in about three hours after I pick it up assuming no shenanigans when I get there.

The Volt is iridescent pearl on black interior. Has driver confidence I and II, all weather mats and cargo cover. No Bose or Nav which is fine. Yay for Android Auto NAV. The stock audio in my Sonic sounds better than the Bose setup in our Regal GS so I probably won't miss it anyway.

I had read about the 220v plug hack but went ahead and ordered an L2 charger on Amazon anyway. It will only cost me $250 after power company rebate and it may come in handy if we end up in a Bolt or other electric model later.

Looking forward to learning new things here.

Congrats on your new Volt. Although I drove an EV [2011 Leaf] for about 5 yrs before getting the Volt, there is still a lot of helpful info that I found in this forum. I am sure you will enjoy the drive and the info and discussion in this forum.

Make sure the dealership does ALL the software updates, not just the recalls. Depending on the build, there has likely been a new NAV update and you should get them to install that for you as part of the sale. You do not want to be taking your car to the dealership 2 weeks after ownership like I did.

I just left about 30 mins ago with the car. This one doesn't have the Mylink Nav
I'll look into the other updates when I get home tonight. So far the Android Auto is working great. Pandora sounds great.

Congrats, Rod! It's a Premier, right? All Premiers should have the NAV.

It is a Premier. It sorta has NAV but it is the OnStar version where you can have them send directions to the car. The stand-alone NAV that is separate from OnStar and built into the infotainment system is a $495 option. I didn't get that.

Google Maps or Waze kicks the factory NAV in the teeth anyway. Our Regal GS has it and I'm thinking I've used it once or twice since buying the car three years ago.

Interesting -- I had no idea you could get a Premier WITHOUT NAV, every one I ever looked at always had it. I guess because it adds more $$$ to the profit.

We have the same two cars in our driveway. A 2012 Regal GS and a 2017 Premier Volt!

All good so far. I did have it on the 8a charge rate on 110v outlet. Thought I changed it to 12a but I guess not. Plugged it up at 6p yesterday and it was only at 38 miles (75%) at 8a this morning. Oops....

Picked up everything needed to install the charger tomorrow so that problem will be no more.

Removed the dealer tramp stamp and front license plate and it is back to what it was from the factory. Clean.

Hi RodSlinger. I too am a new owner of a 2017 Volt. If you are at home. you can set the charger to always charge at 12 A when at your "Home" location. My understanding is the "Home" setting has to be renewed every 6 months.

From the 2017 Volt PDF p.127

Using Location Based Charging
To use location based charging, a
home location must first be stored.
To store a home location:
1. From the Home screen, touch
Settings.
2. Touch Vehicle.
3. Touch Energy.
4. Touch Location Based
Charging.
5. Touch Set Home Location.
6. A pop-up will confirm the
setting and the compass will be
lit. In addition, the Set Home
Location will change to Update
Home Location.

Works great!
