Seems to me this was discussed in the Bolt forum (www.chevybolt.org) a few months ago. Can’t quite remember if it was about the unit drawing less power than the Bolt’s heater (leaving more for ev range), or if the discussion was more aimed at ease of creating cabin warmth for passengers in a Bolt used as an Uber...

Oops thank you for clarifying 6000 watt is the size of my solar inverter 6000-btu is the size of the heater
If it's a diesel-air heater, it's probably a 6 kW equivalent heater. That is, it puts out about the same heat as about 5 hair dryers set to "hi" but it's using the combustion of diesel to make the heat and only using a 12V fan to move the heated air, so it doesn't use much electricity. Still want to know the backstory. Are you doing this to camp in the car or something or just want the ability to drive around in the winter without using up the traction battery for cabin heating?
Also, please let us know how this setup works. I'm very interested in stuff like this.

This heater is called a parking heater design for semi drivers and other uses as boats and campers. The exhaust pipe can or could be run through a tank to heat water also or run a Whiskey Still ...jk
