So I liked the idea of wireless charging for my phone because I am very OCD and hate seeing cables. My LT didn't come with it but from what I understand the factory wireless phone charger sucks anyway. And from what I see it goes in a cup in the center console and you need to have the lid open to charge and it doesn't fit a large phone. Ordered an ultra slim wireless charging pad and installed it in the center console and hard wired it inside. Covered it with the pad and it works perfectly. Charges at 2.1 amps so its very fast.

This can be done in most vehicles. The "Qi" standard for smartphone wireless charging has been in the market for many years. I have a removable wireless charging base in my cars, and I have all my smartphones using it since I had my Samsung Galaxy S6, the first of my phones using it. A wireless charging base kit can be found at Amazon, eBay, and other web stores for less than $25.

So anyone here can add wireless smartphone charging in their EVs or ICEVs. But we expect soon for anther standard to be completed for true EV wireless charging, not just for smartphones.

Yes but most most wireless phone chargers used by people in cars are pods or whatever that still require you to see the cable plugged into the usb or 12v outlet. I set mine up completely hidden. If I didn't tell you it was there then you would never know.

Since the pad has a USB connector I bought a seperate 12v 2.1amp usb adapter, tapped into the rear 12v outlet and wired it directly into the 12v adapter and hid everything under the cup in the console.

Neat setup. I use an older version of this. Allows me to mount and see the Phone while it is charging wirelessly. The mount itself can be hardwired with some DIY: https://www.amazon.com/iOttie-Wireless-Samsung-Standard-Enabled/dp/B0754NDNT8/
No reason for my phone to be out though. All the messages come up on the screen anyway because of blue tooth. If I need to use the Autoplay then I can take it out but I dont use my phone while driving so it only needs to charge.
