Hey guys, got my '17 Volt LT a month ago. No complaints!

One thing I recently noticed was what sounds like an AC compressor sound for the first few minutes after I turn on the car. The intensity/pitch varies slightly when accelerate and brake or when I change the speed of the AC fan. It happens in both ECO and MAX mode. Is this normal?

I don't know about the second generation, but the first generation AC compressor was sometimes audible, though the car tries pretty hard to hide it, running it at lower RPMs when the car is stopped except in the worst of weather.

Yes, with our temperatures going up, it has to work harder, so it will be more noticeable. Hi Fellow Central Floridian!

Hey thanks for the replies! With this being my first electric vehicle I wasn't sure if it was normal or not. Looks like it is normal and its just more noticeable because I don't have dinosaur soup exploding a few feet in front of me to mask the sound.
