I purchased some leather seats from a wrecked Volt recently, they're in excellent shape.
However. I didn't notice right away that the seat belt pretensioners had both been fired, presumably in the wreck of the other car.
I was able to remove the used pretensioners and swap over the good ones from my current seats.
Before I swapped the pretensioners, the bad ones were causing a "service airbag" message on every start.
Using the good pretensioners fixed the airbag message, and all is good now.
So just an FYI if you pull seats from wrecked vehicle...check them out before installing them, it might save you some extra work.
Here are the used/fired pretensioners.
