Some time ago I posted that I saw a black Model S in Puerto Rico but it was moving away quickly so I could not get a picture of it. Later I found a web page that announced the existance of several Model S (up to seven) here.

This morning as I was driving on Highway #22 (a toll expressway) from San Juan to Caguas, and passing the north toll station , I saw the black Model S passing by. I did take one picture as it passed by (Model S tail) and even captured the rear license plate info (INL598). Later I caught up and managed to take two more when it passed me again on the passenger side. In one, you can see the driver.

If I had access to the local DOT records, I could find the name and address of the registeder Model S. Maybe someone can identify the model year from the pictures.

It's a pre-facelift car, so older than 4/2016. The badging looks like a P85D or P90D. The car has been de-chromed from the pictures. That's about all I can tell.
It may be older. That license plate ID "INL" is for the beginning of 2015. I couldn't get closer to see the badge but expanding the tail picture proves that it has just two digits and no "P" or "D". It could be a plain model.

No, it definitely is a PxxD. It's too wide of a badge to be a 60, 70, 75, 85, or 90. Plus it has a glint of red in it, signifying P and D on the ends. Having a "normal" mode S 85, I see these badges all the time and can spot them a mile away ;)

It could be a 2015 P85D. That was before the 90kWh batteries came out (I think).

And it looks like there are 30 or more, there:

You guys crack me up. I almost feel like I'm reading a birdwatching thread:)

"In Search of the elusive coastal Black S - and seeking it's nesting site"

"No, look closely at it is wings - they have glints of red - more likely the inland variant".

Consult Peterson's Guide of North American EV's for full illustrations and definitive descriptions.

Cheep!

Great photos! You may be able to get a preowned one shipped at a much lower cost than a new one.
