Got a bead on a 2013 with 49K miles for $13,250. Premium, heated leather seats, rear view camera, lane departure warning. all my research says this is a good deal and that this amount of miles is seriously not an issue. but my brother has me second guessing myself about the miles. it's on Carvana and i won't have a sense of whether it has primarily ICE or electric usage until I take delivery. Carvana has a 7 day trial period so I would have an opportunity to have it checked out by a dealer Volt mechanic if I wanted.

opinions? deal or no deal?

I'm pretty sure the Volt is easily a 300,000 mile vehicle, probably more than that once replacement battery packs start showing up.

GM really over-engineered the GEN I Volts. I have a 2013 (purchased new) with 41K miles. It has no issues and she drives as smooth and tight as the day I purchased.

As long as you have a clean CarFax and service history if you can get it; I'd have 0 reservations of purchasing a 2013 with only 49k miles.

Sounds like a great deal to me. Miles mean nothing for Volts. My 2011 with 85,000 and the brakes are hardly worn a bit. If it still has the original tires that may be an expense, if they have been replaced even better.

I bought a 2013 with 52K miles two months ago for $12500 and love it! Luckily for us this car depreciates so much that in three years you have an opportunity to buy it for less than 1/3 of its original price! Have a look at this place: http://www.voltstats.net/ and you will see that there are several Volts with over 100K miles. The champion is sparkie with 355K miles on the original battery, so no worries there.

Same, got a 2013 Black with 58k miles a month ago for $12,200 - fully loaded with leather, backup cam, navigation. No accidents in history, one owner only.

A good deal under 60k miles should be $11k-13k. (for full load leather nav backup cam)

Co-worker has a 2014 Grey with less than 20K miles coming off lease in Feb. Worth it to buy from US Bank - at what cost?

In reality, Sparkie's data are 355+k total miles, 124+k electric miles. While we don't know if the electric miles reflect always fully recharging the battery as opposed to partial recharging and driving, the data show that the Gen1 Volt is rock solid. IIRC, Sparkie had to replace a wheel bearing. IDK about brake pads. The way the ICE is programmed to run is far easier on it than a comparable ICE car that constantly revs up and down. The car is a tank!

Can't someone tell you what the lifetime mileage is on the dash of the car? That should give you a rough idea whether it has mostly ICE or EV miles.

Sounds like a reasonable price and I wouldn't be afraid of the mileage.

I purchased a 2012 this past summer with 49K miles: leather, navigation, backup camera, and every other option that was available ....clean history etc. Complete maintenance history from previous owner, new tires, spare tire and 2 jacks, front sunshade, leather 'seat filler' for back seat....(whatever it's really called) also included were the original L1 charger, and his L2 charger...all for 13200. So far, absolutely no issues....I just drive it. No complaints other than lack of lumbar support, but I've eventually solved that so I've been quire pleased with the vehicle.

Good luck,

We traded our 2014 Volt with over 40,000 miles on it for our current 2016 Volt LTZ. Great car our 2014 Volt was, first new U.S. made car we ever purchased. Still got over 40 miles on a charge summer, and 32-35 winter, and high 30's to low 40 mpg's just on gas.

Appears to be a good price, even better if you can knock off another 1 or 2 thousand off that price. With used Volts it is a buyers market and not a sellers market.

You're not crazy. It's a solid deal. I feel bad for the folks who paid near list price ($44K) for their volts. I paid $21K for mine, titled new, but it had 700+ test drive miles on it.

Better deal then my 2013 Base with Leather but even without the safety features the Volt is still a great engineered car. Deal if you're able to test drive. I'm at over 2K miles with 0.8 gallon of used fuel with my commutes but I should try to get my tank to 3 gallons to reduce the unnecessary weight. Keep us posted.

This is all very encouraging. I just bought my Volt and it has 36K miles so hearing you guys say mileage is not a big deal makes me feel better about the long term Low Cost of Ownership for this car. I look forward to hearing more stories like these.

Bought my 2013, same package that yours is, for $15,000. It has 29k miles though. I'd say you got a very good deal.

At 80k+ miles (~75% electric) and 5+ years my 2011 Volt it is still like brand new. Best car I have owned.

I would agree to others comments about Volt reliability. My 2013 is at 57k now and has been flawless. If the car has an active Onstar subscription you can view its gas/electric miles breakdown on the Voltstats. Somebody here posted a rough estimator based on displayed lifetime mpg of what percentage of the odometer miles are EV. Seems like lifetime of 85 mpg equals about 50% electric. I bought my car with 21k miles and 84 mpg lifetime. Up to 95 now. Hoping to break 100 someday!
