Can't believe it's been already 3 years since I bought my Volt. And I have to say I am impressed with the car - 34K miles, only 99.1 gallons of gas used. No repairs of any kinds. I wrote a blog about my experience of the past 3 years, can be particularly helpful to those who considers buying Volt.

I also have a 2014 and am coming up on 3 years. 24,000 miles on 50 gallons of gas and no problems or repairs. I run on electric only about 95% of the time. I love the car and hope to have it for many more years. Kudos to Chevrolet!

2013 Volt purchased with 10,000 miles on the odometer. After 18 months, I have added 18,000 miles with 4,000 miles exclusively on gasoline. Average fuel economy is now at 85 MPG. I suspect that fossil-fuel based electricity is over-weighted, since night-time charging occurs on electricity that is generated by more wind energy. Otherwise, I would be better-off environmentally to drive a Prius in Colorado if the fossil-fuel contribution to electric power production creates 35 MPG fuel economy. Xcel produces my electricity. Recent composition has been increasingly renewable. The City of Boulder apparently plans to make progress faster. During 2009 and 2010, a volunteer team associated with Citizens for Boulder's Clean Energy Future determined that the city could reduce carbon emissions by 60%, increase the percentage of renewables by 40%, all while keeping our rates at parity or lower than those charged by Xcel. The $300 million start up and infrastructure purchase cost should be seen in the context of Xcel's revenues from Boulder, which amount to $100 million per year. Xcel Energy produces 22% of its electricity from renewable sources. http://www.denverpost.com/2016/02/29/xcel-energys-new-renewable-power-plan-skews-towards-solar-in-colorado/

My 2013 is also 3.5 years old now and around 36k miles. Mostly on EV with occasional trips on ICE (gotta make sure the ICE is used and the drive is long enough to burn off any potential build-ups ;))

No issues also. Car's been quite reliable. I was a bit skeptical about Chevy reliability initially, but my experience tells me the Volt is a very reliable car and they built it quite well.

The harder part is to convince friends/family to give it a try. Believe me, it would've been much easier had the volt carried the Toyota badge. ;)

So. I wasn't the only one with the window closing issue...

I'll be 1 year in ownership in 3 months. Loving every bit of the Volt so far!

Thank you for sharing and the write up blog.

You have answered some questions I had about Volt and I'm sold :)

Looking to purchase my first, gently used Volt.
