I think it safe to say the Volt is the only car you can actually seldom visit the gas station. My wife drives our 2016 Volt to work everyday for a 32 mile round trip. She never has to use gas for the entire week. Living here in Northwestern Oregon for serious shopping and dining we have to leave the beautiful Oregon Coast and drive to Portland Oregon well out of the electric range. Not an issue as even when running on just gas it beats the pants off of the Civic and Corolla for mpg's, last trip was over 50 mpg just on gas for over 145 gas miles.

I think the only time I have been asked a question about my Volt was at a gas station as I was fueling up for a long trip: "I thought that's an electric car, why are you putting gas in it?"

I've gotten this a couple of times. Now I just say, "It is electric, but I have to get gas once a year for vacations."

... I still have half a tank of the dealership's gas.
Your dealer gave you gas!? Mine didn't even have it charged at all.
I had just enough petrol to get it home.
I paid in Australian dollars, a high price in US dollars amount for a second hand 2012 Volt, then got slugged with the usual tricks.
I wish I'd found you guys here first.
Now they're wondering why I gave them a poor review.

On my purchase of a 2017 Volt, I demanded a full tank of gas on delivery.

Upon delivery, salesman apologized and told me the gas tank was 1/3 full, on purpose. He said it doesn't make sense rolling with a full tank and hauling that unnecessary weight, and handed me $30 worth of gas station cash cards.

Now that's good service !

That goes to show you how much GM advertises it. Very sad. It's a great car. All my relatives always ask if I've put gas in it each time I see them. They're amazed that it's been 7 months since I've bought gas, and still no need in sight!

My mower is a BEV. I don’t buy gas for anything other than my ELR. Every other month or so.

Last time I put in gas was in February. I am down to 2 and a half gallons. I have driven almost 7000 miles. My guess o meter shows 73 miles when full and my typical long day is 64 miles, but I have driven over 100 on accusation. I will probably go at least another month before I fill up the tank. And I live in Michigan where with overnight charging and time of day rates it costs me about $1.75 for a complete charge. This car is great.
