IMHO, the cabin air filter is a marketing scam. I breath the outside air unfiltered all the time. Why do I need a filter when I'm in the car?

I think this is bigger than GM & Ford. I'm an engineer and from my experience, unless you're working at a startup, engineers do not run the show.
