2018 Plug on off switch

I don't understand your problem. Leave the changer (EVSE) plugged into the wall and connect it to the car. Remove it from the car when you are done charging.
Putting a cheap, made in China device that likely isn't rated for the current that they are claiming is asking for trouble.

Why would you plug and unplug every time? If your EVSE is going to be permanently located, mount it to the provided wall bracket, plug it in and leave it plugged in permanently. If you don’t have the wall bracket you can use zip ties. Even better on my early Volt EVSE I used 3” deck screws through the extended plastic as theft deterrent.

Are you charging at 8A or 12A? I might be a little wary of a "consumer" type switch under a continuous 12A load. As others have asked, what is the need? I have not unplugged my EVSE in several months. If you are wanting to control when it charges, use the car to schedule the start/finish time.
