My first Volt was a 2014 Gen 1. The ERDTT miles always counted in my gas total. My 2017 Gen 2 however seems to count the miles as electric miles. Since almost half of my engine running miles has been during ERDTT my gas fuel economy is very low, 21.66. Has anybody else seen this?
2018 Do ERDTT miles count as Electric miles or Gas miles?

Hey, this AM mine was 17! Of course, it is 12 degrees as the high today (5 when I left with the car). I am not losing sleep over the mileage figures at the moment. I am happy the heater works (the heater being the single thing in the Volt I don't love). I'm not out to win a prize for low gas use.

The Gen 2 has a different drive train than Gen 1. Reports are that it uses the ICE to generate electricity while in ERDTT, which is a plus over simply burning gas for heat in my opinion. If burning gas for heat, might as well get some other use from it as well.
Volt has always generated electricity via ERDTT - about 6kW. If in park and you press the accelerator you can increase it slightly as well (if you want it to heat up faster on extreme days).
The only time the engine spins for fun is during EMM. Every other time it's making electricity or at least contributing energy to move the vehicle.

I was wondering about this and this thread made me check how the MyChevrolet app was recording my miles. Turns out all of the ERDTT miles are reported as EV miles. I only have 319 miles on my ICE and that number hasn't increased since the last time I exhausted the battery back in June when I was hit with the dreaded FMM.
At least for 13-15, ERDTT would show on-screen in the vehicle as 'gas' calculated miles.
But onstar/voltstats would consider them EV miles.
