Thinking about driving to Canada. Does the OnStar data plan work in Canada? Is there going to be an insane roaming charge?
IIRC from reading something on (I think) AT&T's site that I can't find right now, there's no roaming charge, but it's all subject to whether AT&T has an agreement with the carrier in the area, which sounded like coverage might not be as good or extensive as for a Canadian OnStar-equipped vehicle.

I just called OnStar, no extra charge for Canada. They say that after you've crossed the border you should power down for a few minutes and then power back up so that it can switch carriers.

You have a 2017, so you're fine, but for future reference of any other readers - if you have a pre-2015 and have not updated your onstar module, you will have no service in Canada. CDMA has been shut down.
