Would you try a couple of things if you are currently experiencing the brake pedal / cruise control problem?
First, see if RESUME works after the cruise control had been disabled by using the brakes. With the cruise control engaged,
1 -Step on the brake to disengage,
2 - Fiddle with the brake pedal the way you would to get cruise control to work.
3 -Does pressing the RESUME button active the cruise control?
4 - Does pressing the SET button activate the cruise control, confirming that your fiddling with the brake pedal was successful?
Second, while the cruise control is acting up, tap on the brake pedal as if you wanted to flash your brake lights or disengage the cruise control. Do it rapidly five or ten times as if you were an annoying little kid trying to make noise. Does your cruise control now work and does it continue working normally?
I'm starting to wonder if this whole thing is a firmware problem and would very much appreciate your data.
