Over the 4th I had occasion to use the radio in the accessory mode by pressing and holding the on/off button in my '16. Yesterday when I did a normal start everything booted up normally except for the radio button control (dead) and center screen (blank). The radio played and responded to steering wheel controls OK. Uh,oh, screen failure? No, just a seeming inversion of the accessory mode. A re-start cycle or two fixed the problem.

I had this happen to me a couple of times, particularly after I was in an accident with my 2017. But I do think it happened once before my wreck.

There is a firmware bug in the infotainment unit. I've had this happen on multiple occasions. If you turn the car off for about 10 minutes it will fix itself. There are some firmware updates available that make it better but I don't think they've completely fixed it. Go to your dealer an have them update the firmware in your infotainment unit.

Doesn't that put it in Service Mode?? I think to put it in Accessory, you shut down the power button before placing in park.
