was wondering why my car came without a towing eye bolt... popped the tow-hook cover off my bumper (photo representative only, not my car) and there is no threaded hole behind it, only Styrofoam? GM you suck

Gen 1 Volts only included the tow eye in Europe.

if the car "frames" are the same, can anyone confirm that under the styrofoam there is a threaded hole? I don't want to waste time cutting into it if there isn't
No threaded hole based on car's with front end damage at junk yards.

I thought tow-hooks were only installed on cars that were shipped by sea freight for export..or cars that are imported by sea. Anyone know if this is true? Obviously, there are truck/suv applications where tow hooks are part of the functional aesthetic.

Good news, the Bolt EV comes with a tow eye bolt for US buyers. So maybe GM decided that threading a hole was not that expensive. But tow eye bolts can sometimes be pricey, don't lose it. :)

It is only mandatory to have a tow hook if it is for European transport, as it is the law in europe
