Hi
I bought this used 2014 Volt 01/2017 at 31,000. I love it a lot! My problem, question is from January, until about 2 weeks ago the morning overnight charge would read 38+ miles on range to 35 last week and today 34. Nothing has changed in routine. Never any variation in morning electric charge range and nothing different about daily commute and suddenly after 8 months and now at 38,500 miles one morning it showed just 35 for a weeks and yesterday and today just 34.

I have read the basic reasons that this is a commutation of "recent driving patterns and a/c or heat" however this wouldn't explain suddenly almost overnight after 8 months where some days would include a/c a or heat, etc...

Can anyone help?
Thanks

Mine went from 47-38 from one day to next

Hi Alan,

I am writting because I suddenly have your same issue. I have a 2013 Volt, I had it in New Mexico for a couple of years and now in Maryand for 2 years. My average charge in the New Mexico and Maryland was about 47 miles when fully charged, this during the spring, summer and fall, now during winter it will go down to about 42-43 miles. About a month and a half ago, I left the house with a charge of 46, did my regular commute and plug it in, next morning fully charge it said 40. Next day fully charge 39, next day 37 and the following day back to 39, then dropped to 34 miles and in the last few days I only get a max of 38 fully charge. This happened suddenly, and there has not been any change in my driving habits or use of air conditioner. I took it to the dealer because I got extremely concern that there may be something wrong with the battery, their explanation "ohh this is due to your recent driving patterns and the use of a/c or heat". Of course I felt that is a script they are telling people, I argue with the guy explaning to him that this does not make any sense first because it was a sudden change on the car and not on my driving habits, and because I was later on travel with the car not been in use and the it never charge to the average 46-47 I was getting. Who gave you that explanation? Please let me know if you find a solution or explanation, I will do the same. This gets me really mad, becase again it feels like a scripts they are telling us. I simply want to know if the battery degraded, why it degraded that much and so fast and if this is going to continue until it does not charge?

Sorry for the long message but just wanted to let you know I am on your same situation and really want to get to the bottom of this.
Thanks,
- Fred
