2014 Spark Power locks unlock and relock again and again when unlock is pressed

I am working on my co-workers 14’ Spark EV. I scanned the body control module ( Using an Autel tablet based scanner) and didn’t find any pertinent info.
When you press unlock on the key fob one of two things happens consistently.

• the door locks unlock briefly then relock. To open the door you must pull the handle immediately after pushing the unlock button on the key fob, before it relocks
• it starts a rhythmic lock and unlock cycle about one second in each position. This keeps going for about 30seconds.

I also scanned the “vehicle contents protection system ecu”
And found the “battery disconnect “ pid value was “yes”
Maybe the car thinks someone is trying to break in?
Anyone seen this issue before?
