Without knowing what the issue is we can't possibly comment on what should or shouldn't be covered.
Out of warranty is out of warranty.

I always park indoors and for the first time in November I parked outside for a night and could not defrost the window. The aux coolant pump was bad but since I have 51000 miles it is not covered under warranty. I opened up the pump and it looks like it never spun. Don't you think they should cover it?
This is on a case by case basisGM also has deals where they split the costs on repairs if it's out of warranty.
If you opened the pump up yourself, it would likely now not be under warranty. You could have had the dealer look at it and possibly been under the Voltec warranty.Would it be hard to believe since I picked up my car new that I never used the heat?
