Just figured I would give you some numbers I havent seen here yet....

I turned in my 2014 ELR (without ACC) about 2 months ago and just got the closeout on it. With 29,800 miles on it, the proceeds from sale (or wholesale appraisal) was $26,500. I dont know if they sold it or used the appraisal for the closeout. Interestingly, even though I cancelled the onstar with my new purchase, volt-stats is still pulling data. Every few days it gets a few miles put on it....
My contract residual value was $37,300 so I guess I made out there, except for paying interest on an extra $10k... It was in good shape, no excess wear and tear or miles, although I did spend some $$$ on tires and repairing wheel rash before turning it in....

I can happily say now that I am done with leasing!
But just wanted to give some actual numbers in case anyone is curious.

Ok, I'm a little confused. You wrote proceeds from sale was $26,500? Your contract or residual was $37,300. So I'm guessing the for you to buy it out right would be $37,300. Did you try to negotiate with them or was that their take it or leave it offer? Just wondering because my lease is up in a few months. If the price is right I figure I'll buy it, otherwise they can have it back. Rick

I never talked to them. In my case, that key thing was "without ACC"... Just decided it was time for something new.
I turned it in 2 months ago, and just got the final settlement 2 days ago. At least its some numbers for others to consider....

Just purchased (retail) a 2014 lease turn-in with 28,600 miles (I basically paid $1.00/mile!). Car is in great shape and rides perfectly, I love it! I found lots of 2014's with less than 30,000 miles in southeast Michigan, most from $28K - $33K. Looks like the lease turn-ins are getting to the dealers.
