Two years after I posted it, I stumble upon a this message a GM rep sent me in regards to my complaint about my phone sound.

"Mr. Manusos,

Sorry to hear about your Bluetooth issue. We do have an update for 2013 Volts. If you could give me your VIN and the best way to contact you, I could let your Volt Advisor know and perhaps check under your history to see if this has been performed already.

I wish I had seen it sooner. Hope they will still fix it even though I am now out of warranty.

Awesome if they can fix it. We just got a great 2012 Loaded Volt from Ecolam Automotive and will be getting Volt number three later this year from him thanks to his great service. The 2012 phone quality is fantastic. Our 2013 is horrible above 25 mph.

Me being a less than 2 month owner of a CPO 2013 Volt, can you describe what horrible means to you? Perhaps I have the similar issue and don't realize it.

For comparison when my wife calls me from the car, she sounds a little tinny and distant but that seems fairly typical of speaker phone communications.

Dennis,
People complain that once i get over 25 MPH, it sounds horrible. They say it sound ok when slow but above 25, they say it sounds like I am driving down the highway with the windows open and a Semi Truck is right next to me.

My 2012 is incredibility quite, at ANY speed. When Lewey was driving it out too me, we chatted a lot on the phone and he sounded very clear. Contrast that to my 2013 where people tell me they cant take it and ask for me to call them later. It's that bad.

Thanks to a user on this forum, I pried my cover off and stuffed egg-crate foam behind the microphone on my '12 Volt. That's supposed to fix some of the noise, but I confess I haven't a clue if it's better.
