I have a CPO 2013 and was wondering if there is a way to check the software version of the car. radio, and other devices in the car against the latest out there. When I ask the dealer about updates they always ask what problems are you having... Dealer almost never sees a volt in the shop. I just want to make sure I am running the latest on everything before my CPO runs out.

It doesn't work like that. GM dealers install updates if needed to correct a problem. However, the dealer can check to see if there are any outstanding updates for your car based on it's VIN.

Yep. Doesn't work like Windows 10 or Android or even Tesla. You have to experience a problem to get an update.

If you hit "Create Log File" in the radio config menu it will generate an XML file with the software versions. Here are the versions before and after: (note that the versions shown on the Software Versions screen are prefixed, i.e. E0.0D.0D.002 or C9.0D.0D.038)

Just to clarify based on my experience. I requested a radio update from the git-go over the phone when seting up an appointment. It was the only purpose of the appointment, but I really didn't have any complaints with the software. I just wanted the update packages applicable to my VIN and the *complimentary* ECU update as well. The technician did say however, that they usually only go to the trouble to load update packages if there is some specific complaint, but he had no issues with giving me the latest software applicable to my VIN and letting me watch and lightly document the process while he did so.

I just received my notice for my map update for my 2015 volt
it is $153 and will be mailed to me for installation, after payment
also they are very tight lipped about the installation method
I don't need a map update as my smartphone has a built in GPS
