Dealer says the aftermarket valve cover (replaced last week) needs to be replaced with a OEM GM valve cover before they can proceed at $500. There is no guarantee that will resolve the problem and I pay the cost. Just cant bring my self to do it. I asked them to reprogram the ECM that had the fault and they said no that would not fix the problem. I asked would they do it anyways and they said no. So I think I'll take it back and continue on myself. Any opinion on the intake manifold nonreturn valve causing this problem??

Ok so I sold the car to an enthusiastic buyer. He changed the MAP and the MAF sensors and the problem is still there. He says he's going to replace the injectors and intake manifold next. I'll keep posting as long as he tells me how the progress is going. Still intrigued about the flashing of the ECM. Just can't find anyone local that had the tools and knowledge to do it.
