2011 Chevrolet Volt: Electric versatility

The Boston Globe reviewer had issues with the sandpaper steering wheel, rough cloth seats, interior plastic, low front spoiler and price. But otherwise gave a fairly good accounting and some interesting observations related to other cars.

Not a bad review but it would be interesting to see what his review would be now. With the warmer weather I'm getting about 45 miles per charge and over 40 MPG when the gas engine is engaged. To be sure the 40 MPG when in CS mode isn't quite like the Prius but driving the Prius is FAR from like driving the Volt and my overall MPG of nearly 500 is also FAR from the Prius.

Once production volumes go up it would be real interesting to see average people drive the Prius and then drive the Volt. I'm pretty sure which car would be viewed as the overwhelming favorite between the two.
