My 2011 with 75,000 mile has is still the most amazing car I have owned! But ran into a problem over the holiday and have an appointment scheduled to take her in to the dealer on Thursday. But wonder if any of the expert minds her have any ideas what might be happening (you have been great in the past thanks).

I came out one morning and system malfunction light was on the dash and no charge happened. So hit the Onstar button to get the codes. PIE00 and PIE6

Came home and the 240 charger did not complete the connection when I started. got the yellow light and no green. So tried the 120 that came with the car and nothing. So started the car and turned it off in case in needed to re-set ( figure it is like a couputer) ? After that the 120 worked normally. So tried the 240 again and unfortunately same problem. So repeated the off/on re-set and the 120 worked so let her charge. Next day tried the 240 again when I got home but again the same problem. Switched to the 120 with re-set and that worked.

Just wondering if a problem with the 240 charger can lock up the charging system in the car somehow?

Something happened like this a while back but after one time just went away so forgot about it. Think the codes were similar but different too then. Remember they gave me three that time and one was about the high voltage battery.

Just concerned about my favorite thing, Thank you, Roy

See if you can duplicate the problem on a public L2 charger. If you get to the dealer and everything works, they won't be able to do much for you.

Great idea, there is one here in the shopping center where my market is. I can use no problem tomorrow.

So there must be more than one failure by now over the last few days. Wonder, is the service tech sees a history of things for a period of time back when he gets it hooked up or just the last ones since I called Onstar and they ran the diagonstic?

Thank you, Roy

PIE00 doesn't exist as far as I know, but the general fault code P1E00 does.

Are you sure the other code is PIE6? Not finding that either.

I thought that is what they said, can check tomorrow. The malfunction light is still on I didn't pull the battery to clear the codes.

I do remember the agent saying that they were about the battery and charging system.
Checked my note and they said something like one was "related to the lithium ion battery cable" I did have a new 12volt battery installed by the dealer a couple months ago on my 75,000 mile service so doubt that is it.

Will post after calling Onstar again tomorrow. Thank you, Roy

Ed:
Great Idea - it worked. The level 2 charger at the center worked fine. So I am assuming it is mine. I called them and they said that if their charger malfunctions it would shut down the cars even the 120 until their charge was disconnected and the car restarted. They though the cable on theirs so checking that first. So canceled the appointment with the service department for now.

Steverino:
I checked and was missing an E on the code. Here is the email from Onstar with the codes. (first time they offered to email the result and I think that is Great!)

"P1E00 The vehicle's electric system is not performing as expected. The HPCM (VIC) may or may not have another code active. If no other code is found service at your convenience.

P1EE6 VIC - VEHICLE INTEGRATION CONTROL
The Lithium-Ion Battery is not performing as expected. An issue has been detected in the Charging Cable System that monitors and controls the charging station connection between your vehicle and the plug in connection."

This forum is a Fantastic resource for am amazing Car. Thank you, Roy Volt #1019
