Just purchased a 2012 volt with 74k miles. I’m just curious peoples opinion on if this car will most likely make it to 200k miles? Is this a realistic expectation? Anybody out there have 200k miles or more? How is your battery doing? What major issues can I expect on the way? Thanks

If you look on Voltstats.net there are about 11 Volts with around 200k on them. I think if you take good care of it 200k should be easy.

Mine has 132k total and 102k of that is all electric. I just put new tires on it and plan to keep it until 250k+. I do 28k miles per year so it's a ton of highway miles.

No battery degradation thus far. I still see 41-43 miles in the summer and 33-37 in the winter for range.

Not to mention Sparkie which has gone over 450,000 miles and mostly just needed front wheel bearings because it is a heavy car for the wheel bearings.

Good to hear as I travel roughly 35K miles a year and will see 200K miles in 4-5 years of driving

I have had relatively few problems with my 2012 Volt, but now at 67K, I am only getting 90% of the energy out of the battery, and I wonder if the battery will make it past 150K or so. I do plan on driving it until the battery gives out.

At that mileage you shouldn't be having any battery loss at all.
How are you figuring out the battery loss, is it the loss of guess
meter range or the amount of KwH used per charge? Mine uses 10.4 as it always has and I have twice the mileage you have on yours. Also my guess meter has never shown more tyhan 38 miles in the summer and as low as 28 in the winter here in Washington. The actual mileage varies but the guess O is usually pretty close.

My 2011 has 143k and it increases quickly, probably have 200k by the end of 2019. Winter weather skews the numbers, but just a month or so ago I was seeing at least 30 miles of range at 65mph. I just had the transmission fluid changed for the second time, usually change oil early and I'll be in for coolant in the next month. My plan is to keep doing that until something breaks.
