Cashed my $2000 "Drive Clean Rebate Program" check today. :D I applied at San Joaquin Valley Unified Air Pollution Control District about a month or so ago. Still waiting for the $1500 check from the state, but it's on the way. I just barely got it OK'd before the money started to run dry.

I'm a happy camper.

Just curious, are you required to get smog checks on ICE vehicles where you live?

Yeah, rub it in! I missed the cut-off by three days! :( Now I'm on a waiting list.

Yes, California requires smog checks on ICE cars. Presumably they'll be required on the Volt.

Yes, we have smog checks in CA, but I have a 3 year lease so fortunately I won't have to deal with it. I wonder how many back-alley smog shops are qualified to smog check a Volt.

Sorry, JStrnad! lol

Do you have similar rebates in the LA basin to our San Joaquin Valley rebate?

They don't stick anything up the tail pipe of modern vehicles, they use the OBD2 port to read out the error codes. It's done during the annual safety inspection.
