I was looking at the pricing details for 2016 Volts and realized that at least in my area they are offering the 20% on 1 LT model. If you look some of them have the price on the page and the ones that are eligible for the 20% discount have the Chevy sales event emblem and no price until you go to details and offers. I am tempted to replace my 2012 Volt but trade in value at KBB say it is only worth about $7-8,000.

You might want to look at a private sale. Where I am your 2012 MY would fetch about twice that, assuming it's in decent shape.

In 2018, when bolts and TM3s are everywhere, I'll bet we will see 50% off - the same great deals that 2013-15 volts and 2014 ELRs saw a few years after introduction. Depreciation plus low demand equals screaming great deals.

Nice deal, 20% plus the tax credit is a great deal. I wonder when the 2018 will come, will 2017 be sold for 21 months, or will they release the 2018 early?
