My Voltec addiction continues, just leased a demo 2018 Cadillac CT6 PHEV.

I've been shopping for several months looking for a great deal and one finally popped up locally.

I will miss my Volt's EV range and gas mileage, but I needed a bigger car and wanted more gadgets and gizmos.

I've had the car for 12 hours and here are some quick observations:
  • Love the larger size. With my drivers seat adjusted the amount of space in the back seat is more than an Escalade
  • The tech stuff is just silly. It has Heads Up Display (HUD). It has night vision. FREAKING NIGHT VISION!!!
  • Powered remote trunk operation. Nice!
  • The interior is very nice.
  • I'm very happy with CUE so far, don't get all the hate.
  • EV mode does not work like Volt. If you demand too much power the gas engine will turn on. That won't happen in any normal driving.
  • When the gas engine is running this car is seriously quick.

I leased it for 2 years and 15k miles per year.

I used GM card cash (2k) and 1.5k from my trade to bring the monthly payment to $575. This is only $74 more than I was paying for my Volt (financed 30k at 60 months @0%).

Here are a few pics.

My parents really like their 2017. It has an amazing amount of tech and gadgets, and despite being a really large car, it handles and accelerates like something much smaller. It's certainly more about luxury than efficiency, but if someone is considering the CT6 in general, there's very little downside (other than some options you can't get, like massage seats, heated steering wheel, and the upgraded audio) and a lot of upside with getting the PHEV version. The PHEV is faster to 60 than 2 of the 3 other engines, and it's only about .2 seconds slower to 60 than the twin turbo top engine choice. The fuel economy is much better too, even after the battery is exhausted.

Just made an 800mi+ trip in my CT6 PHEV. Got 35mpg over all and nobody passed me. Ever.

Gorgeous car. I love the color compared to plain ole black. Mine is a unique color. Dark Amethyst.

I miss the ELR a little, but, with all the whiz-bang tech in this thing I'll get over it. :)

Traded in my 556 hp CTS-V for a car that has 400 hp less(Volt). Go figure!

Wow!

You've had some really serious car payments for a very long time! Here's hoping you've finally found something you really like and can live with for several years

Heh, very true!

Think of all the people I'm keeping employed through my very wasteful spending. :)
