Hi,

I use my 120v charger at work daily and now the charge cord strain relief has completely failed/gone. I did a search and it seems like most of the problems were back in 2012. I was wondering if anyone got the dealer to replace them? I have the extended warranty so I'm still under warranty. If not, is there a fix or some DIY replacement for the J1772 part?

Thanks!

The black rubber piece started breaking off bit by bit and now it's just the wire with exposed sheathing connecting to the J1772.
I'll try to get a pic after work.

The early units with orange wall plug cords were replaced. The strain relief coming out of the EVSE housing sometimes even arrived pre-cracked for your convenience, lol. Yes, whatever cheap, semi-flexible molded plastic is being used is not durable for the long haul. Should be using rubber strain reliefs in my opinion. Haven't heard of the strain relief on the handle going bad. That's a first I think. You can try getting the dealer to replace the unit.
