Note that it IS possible with this multipurpose device to apply 14.2 VDC to a "cigarette lighter" and keep the main rails at the higher voltage in case of the dreaded BECM issue.
I thought I heard that was a proposed "bandaid" fix. Just a thought...
There must be something wrong with my passenger lighter port. It did not want to work.
I wanted something in the trunk area as I always back-in to my flying spot.
A 20 amp in-line fuse is a GREAT idea, thanks.
That's why, then. Those outlets shut down a little while after you turn off the car. Where "a little while" is ten minutes or you open the door, whichever comes first.
