Problems, Driver Warnings or DTCs - Chevy Volt
My son accidentally pressed the red SOS OnStar Button today. After that, it seems that our radio will not work. The screen is on and actually stays on after the car is off. You can't hear anything through the radio and when you try to press buttons on the menu, everything seems greyed out. I...

  3. 2011 Volt gets new radio after cue audio (startup whoosh sound) stopped working

Care, Maintenance & Service - Chevy Volt
The startup "whoosh" sound stopped working on my 2011 Crystal Red Volt a couple of months ago. I blew it off because it didn't bother me that much, and besides I knew I had to take the car in for the inverter reprogramming. I figured after they did that, they would just disconnect the battery...

  5. Sirius XM Radio Subscription -- switch to smartphone only?

    Generation 1 Volt (2011-2015)
I truly do like XM Radio particularly for the news and politics, and my fiance really likes the music, so seems like a good reason to keep the subscription, the free trial of which expires Jan 2013. I also happen to love my samsung galaxy s3 and not in love with the Infotainment controls...

  7. Issue with saving "Favorites"

VOLT Consumer Advisory Board (CAB) Archive Only
I started saving some Favorites (FM, AM and XM) to my list but ran into an issue - after successfully saving about 12 stations, when I find a new station to save and press and hold the Fav location - the "Favorite Saved" message comes up but the old station is still there. I've tried this...

  9. XM Renewal $77/year

    Generation 1 Volt (2011-2015)
For those reaching the end of the XM trial period, it's good to know that you can still get the $77/year price by calling their customer service at 1-800-347-0600 and, after they give you the $199/year or $142.45 a year choice, say "I was hoping for the $77/year deal." They will say, "since you...
