  1. Want to Buy/Want to Trade
Hey all; looking to purchase a used Winter wheel+tire setup for a first gen Volt. Could be convinced to buy wheels and/or tires separately if the stars align. Located in Indiana but willing to travel/deal with shipping if the price is right. UPDATE: found a set. Admins feel free to delete.
  2. Wheels, Tires, Brakes - Gen 1 Chevy Volt
Hi all! I'm Chema, from Spain. I have 2012 Chevy Volt with 85k km. Well, since a coulpe of weeks ago, front right TPMS start to show a decrease of tire presure... at first, it didn't care me so much, but it kept going decreasing slowly day after day and now i have low tire presure's light...
  3. Generation 1 Chevy Volt (2011-2015)
My spousal unit took her Prius to our local mechanic and complained that her car didn't seem to stop well esp. on wet leaves. (She did not believe me that this was the anti-lock mechanism activating.) They recommended new tires. I said she had plenty of tread left. The mechanic's sales rep...
  4. Wheels, Tires, Brakes - Gen 1 Chevy Volt
I want to cut out my own vinyl decals to put on the stock wheels. I would like to print the outlines of the wheel spokes on a sheet of vinyl I have and just cut around the print. does anyone have a digitized version of the stock wheels, or know where one could be found? Thanks!
  5. Generation 1 Chevy Volt (2011-2015)
Since there is no spare tire, and the stock tires are weak and pop so easily, has anyone found another brand of tire that works on the volt and isn't so delicate? I know the tires were selected for certain reasons - noise, low rolling resistance, ride quality - but there are a ton of reports of...
  6. Wheels, Tires, Brakes - Gen 2 Chevy Volt
UPDATE: D'oh. It just occurred to me. Given the wheel I'm using below, the holes are off center. I brain farted and assumed I'd be mounting the wheel through a center hole, hence concerns about clearance below with the right-wall of the cargo area. Since there are off-center holes (either...

Many threads at GM-Volt discuss changing wheels, mostly for looks, performance, etc. I had a bunch of 1980's cars that means I've lots of very good 15" tires that I'd like to use on my Volt. As they are from yesteryear, they have a higher profile that'll prolly equate to similar total diameter...
  8. Wheels, Tires, Brakes - Gen 1 Chevy Volt
I know, the title is kinda funny :D Seriously though, I am trading in my 2012 volt for a 2017. I have a spare tire for the 2012 that was used for about a year in my garage. Is it worth anything or should I just take it in to be recycled?

Share pictures of your aftermarket wheel/tire setups! Winter, summer, whatever setup you have purchased. Be sure to include the make/model of the wheel/tire, sizes, etc.
  10. Wheels, Tires, Brakes - Gen 1 Chevy Volt
I went to the local tire shop asking for what they'd recommend I put on my 2014 Volt for winter tires. They quoted me some steel rims and some 17" tires. Then they asked me if I wanted 16" tires instead. Now, he really didn't go into the pros and cons of 16" vs 17" for the volt, but implied that...
  11. Chevy Volt News, Events
Ever since I got my delivery of Volt 2011 in February, 2011, the lovely little car has no shortage of flat tires, and I just had the 4th one. While I have two other cars in the household and both have held up well with the rough roads, I cannot help but curious why 2 years of Volt ownership...
  12. Wheels, Tires, Brakes - Gen 1 Chevy Volt
The Volt I bought in December, 2010, failed safety inspection because of a flaw in the sidewall of the front right tire. It turns out both front tires were pretty darn worn, even though they have only traveled 22K miles. Both back tires were in pretty good shape. (I have never rotated them...
  13. Generation 1 Chevy Volt (2011-2015)
The Volt's compressor gauge is nearly 100% accurate as I demonstrate in this video. Anyone else notice how accurate it is with their Volt inflator? http://youtu.be/jyBmnp_wDN4 MrEnergyCzar

  15. Wheels, Tires, Brakes - Gen 1 Chevy Volt
Sold. I got my car recently and have 1200-1500 miles on them. I'd like to change tires and so intend to sell the factory tires. Anyone interested? and for what price?
  16. Generation 1 Chevy Volt (2011-2015)
Until you need the 2 year oil change, get your tires rotated for free at any Town Fair Tire location. There may also be other places that do free rotations as well. They have the procedure to reset the tire TPS as well. It is hard to believe someone would pay the dealer for this 20 minute...
