  1. Did I purchase in time? I think so

Buying, Leasing & Selling - Chevy Volt
I bought a 2017 Volt with ACC, illuminated charge port (yay?), cargo net, and rear cargo mat on Friday December 30th. Unfortunately, my insurance agent was closed, and the department that can get a RMV-1 letter to a dealer at MAPFRE/Commerce was closed, too. So, paid for the car on December...
  2. Maine Governor targets Electric & Hybrid Car owners

    Politics, Finance, and Environment
If anyone of you are from Maine, you probably knew this was coming. Our wonderful (cough) governor is about to put the screws to those of us who are trying to help the state (cleaner air / emissions)...

Buying, Leasing & Selling - Chevy Volt

  4. Just In - $2500 Rebate for Texas EV Buyers

Buying, Leasing & Selling - Chevy Volt
New legislation in the Lone Star state is set to provide up to $2500 in rebates to buyers or lessors of an electric vehicle, which contains at least a 4kwh battery. The rebate is spread out over three years; therefore, lessors on a three year lease will only be eligible for $1750 of the rebate...
  5. In order to buy (and get $7500 benefit), don't withhold taxes?

Buying, Leasing & Selling - Chevy Volt
I read a few posts about the $7500 federal tax credit. It looks like you'll need to *owe* IRS $7500 or more in order to make well with the credit. In effect, does that mean you need to essentially NOT withhold any income taxes from your paycheck until you get close to the $7500 mark?
  6. Colorado $50 annual fee?

    Generation 1 Volt (2011-2015)
Anyone else receive a notice in the mail about them charging an additional $50 fee on our next registration? The funny thing is, they seem to say that they don't know if our vehicles are EV or not, and its a voluntary thing to say they are. So we pay $50/annual is exchange for a sticker? With a...
  7. Virginia hates Plugin/Hybrid buyers!

Chevy Volt General Discussion, News, and Events
I started this thread to post my rants about the state of Virginia when it comes to Electric/Hybrid vehicles Buyers of Plugin/Hybrid cars in general pay a premium (which, in most cases, is not recovered through fuel savings). They also take a risk buying new technologies and being guinea pigs...

  9. Mileage Fee For Electric Cars

    Politics, Finance, and Environment
http://www.nytimes.com/2011/08/11/science/earth/11meter.html?_r=1&ref=world Interesting article on an attempt in the Netherlands to impose a mileage fee on all cars, gas and electric, to deal with problems caused by too many cars. The article mentions that there are similar efforts in the US...
  10. Used Volt incentives?

    Generation 1 Volt (2011-2015)
This is still a while down the road being that the Volt has just been released this past winter, but unless I am blind and have not read clearly, would there be any incentive to buy a volt used, down the road, say when someones 3 year lease runs up. Would there be any tax incentives or are those...
