  1. Change stereo soures

    Generation 1 Volt (2011-2015)
I have a 2014 Chevy Volt, I don't subscribe to Pandora, XM, Sirius etc... I'm really annoyed that I need to cycle through them to get to bluetooth. Is it possible to hide those options? Thanks!
  2. Non Bose Subwoofer Install on Gen 2

    Gen2 Volt Accessories and Modifications
This is a very easy install, everything you need is in the trunk! I've been installing aftermaket sound systems in cars since I started driving, this might be the easiest install ever. No running wires from the front of the car. If you are quick you can probably get this knocked out in an...
  3. Stock stereo vs bose stereo

    Generation 1 Volt (2011-2015)
I just did a back to back comparison this weekend at a dealership in a couple of used Gen1's, and honestly I couldn't tell the difference. I was expecting the bose to WOW me, but it didn't. Anyone else think the bose upgrade is wasted money?
  4. 2012, not impressed with the stereo quality.

Suggestions for GM - Chevy Volt
Have had the 2012 Volt since Feb and am totally not impressed with the stereo. My other car is a 2003 Monte Carlo with the stereo up grade and I guess I am spoiled but this unit is poor quality. The high tones are way to "bright" and even with the high turned off and the mid set low it is...
  5. HD Radio Support

    Gen2 Volt Accessories and Modifications
I am starting this thread at the request of another. I noticed that the new Volt lacks HD Radio. I use it extensively, and do not like the low audio quality in satellite radio, nor do I wish to pay extra for what is free over the air. Given that I can't just replace the head unit in a Volt...
  6. XM Radio Is On, but no sound. Stays on when car is off, but grayed out, HELP!

Problems, Driver Warnings or DTCs - Chevy Volt
My son accidentally pressed the red SOS OnStar Button today. After that, it seems that our radio will not work. The screen is on and actually stays on after the car is off. You can't hear anything through the radio and when you try to press buttons on the menu, everything seems greyed out. I...
  7. For those who upgraded the audio system: experience with different speakers/subs?

    Chevy Volt Accessories and Modifications
For those who upgraded the audio system: advice on different speakers/subs? I finished installing a custom stereo system in my Volt last night. It "piggybacks" on the Bose system - basically I cut the input wires for the front, routed them to an input converter and then to my amp then cut the...
  8. Replace a 2011 Volt Stereo with a late 2012 or 2013 to get MyLink

Chevy Volt General Discussion, News, and Events
Hey Volt Peeps, I just bought a used 2011 Volt last was a great deal and I bought used because I couldn't utilize the tax benefits to their full extent...also didn't want to rely on IL to send me the 4k. I am so pumped to be part of the group. I have already gotten over 42 miles per...
  9. New Subwoofer installed using bose amp

Chevy Volt General Discussion, News, and Events
Aftermarket Subwoofer installed keeping stock amp setup Hi guys I'm new to the site but read countless threads here about updating the stereo system but with not a lot of luck it would seem. Today i took apart the rear and hooked up my all in one system i had for a few yrs and it worked...
  10. Music stored on hard drive

    Generation 1 Volt (2011-2015)
This may be a really silly question, but I am asking anyway. I have more than 2000 songs stored on my Volt hard drive. I have been going through them as I drive and deleting the ones that are poor quality or duplicates. Anyway, how on earth do I locate a song alphabetically without flipping...
  11. HD Radio should be included/available in a techie automobile!

Suggestions for GM - Chevy Volt
Buying a 2012 techie car one would think it would include digital radio (HD Radio). I know you (GM) is trying to push for XM subscriptions but hey, local radio is needed and analog FM is old hat especially for a vehicle like the Volt. Hopefully there is a software add-on for this as nobody...
