  1. Li-Ion Battery, Charging, Mgmt System - Chevy Volt
In and around Los Angeles there are numerous hills and mountains. I get a big kick out of charging the Volt (2015) w/ gravity. What is the best 'gearing' and speed for doing so? -I use D to keep up the speed and not go 30 mph on the freeway. But does L charge at a higher rate? -Does higher...
  2. Use, Care & Maintenance - Gen 2 Chevy Volt
Troubleshooting the ABS sensor took some work, I could not find any procedure on this forum or anywhere else on how to do it. I did eventually find a great BMW video with the same type of sensor as my volt. My Gen 2 volt has a Digital Wheel Speed (ABS) sensor. 1. Removed ABS sensor and inspect...
  3. Newcomers, Owner Stories, FAQs
Hi everyone. I contemplating selling my 2013 and getting a 2018. I've seen the speed limit indicator on the Gen 2 clusters. Do you have to have the factor navigation to be able to have the speed show up? Thanks in advance. Mike
  4. Generation 2 Chevy Volt (2016-2020)
I have a 2017 Volt Premier. This may be an unusual problem, but sometimes, most likely when I've first started driving, I'll make a cell phone call through the radio, and the person's phone is ringing at half the speed and pitch as normal, and when they answer, the speed of their voice is also...
  5. Generation 2 Chevy Volt (2016-2020)
Creating a thread to gather data on how speed affects electric range. I noticed that at 75mph my electric range seems terrible - but at 60mph it seems much better. Anyone with a regular highway commute - so we can get multiple datapoints under the same conditions - any data to share (total...
  6. Generation 1 Chevy Volt (2011-2015)
I've seen 101mph posted here but I didn't think this was possible. My friend sent this to me last night... Anyone seen 103mph? NOT condoning this activity, just interested in the spirit of "research." ;)
  7. Generation 1 Chevy Volt (2011-2015)
I have a 2013 Volt and in this vehicle and my prior vehicle, I have always switched the displays to the metric setting. In my Volt everything now displays in metric with one exception--the speed limit of the current road that is displayed on the navigation map. It still shows MPH although...
  8. Generation 1 Chevy Volt (2011-2015)
When I think of Low gear ("L"), I think in the traditional sense--a low gear ratio with limited speed. With the Volt, I like using L for regeneration. I'm becoming addicted. So, is there a top-speed when driving in L, or is it the same top speed I would get if driving in "D"?
