Good morning, all! As the title suggests, I would appreciate some insight so I can understand the car and its efficiency a little better! When I first purchased the car, the "kWh Usage" meter reflected "19.1" under the Energy Info screen (from last full charge which was prior to my purchasing...

  3. Use, Care & Maintenance - Gen 1 Chevy Volt
I have a 2015 Chevy volt and when the battery dies the energy used say 9.7 kw/h used but google says the battery is much bigger. Is this a sign of major degradation or something else.
  4. Use, Care & Maintenance - Gen 1 Chevy Volt
Hi everyone, I am the brand new owner of a used 2011 Volt. I have only been able to charge it to 23 miles. I took it to the dealer to have them check it out. They say there is nothing wrong with it, it is just getting old. I would like more range of course, but don't want the battery to die on...
  5. Problems, Driver Warnings or DTCs - Gen 2 Volt
Hi all. For the last 4 years, our 2017 Volt has consistently had a range of 59 miles after a full charge overnight at home. Suddenly, 3 charges ago, the range was only 49 miles. My first thought was that the charge limit had dropped from 12 amps to 8 amps, but that wasn't the case. Now there...

So I just got a used Volt that had 44000km(27340mi) on it. I was under the impression that it had a range of 85km(53mi) when fully charged. But when I woke up this morning to my fully charged vehicle it only showed a range of 68km(42mi). Is this normal? I feel like this is a bigger...
  7. Generation 2 Chevy Volt (2016-2019)
I've got a 2017 Volt Premier with 58k miles. I bought it one year ago as a CPO when it had 48k miles. The car has been in Southern California it's whole life, as far as I know. For the past year, it has shown 14.1-14.3 kWh used per fully drained charge like clock work. I had the car serviced...
  8. Chevy Bolt EV Buying, Leasing, and Selling
I have owned a base 2013 Volt now for around 5 years and am among the many fans I have read here. My Volt started with me ~ 2 years old at 70K miles (How I got a good deal) and I'm now over 215K on it. I live in Colorado and always end up working ~1 hour away and the winters have just enough...
  9. Generation 2 Chevy Volt (2016-2019)
In Phoenix, it doesn't get below freezing often in the winter, but will hover between 30 and 40 at night. My electric plan is extremely cheap during super off peak (10am to 3pm). Only $0.03 per kwh vs $0.10 in normal off peak. I'd like to set the car to "Latest Possible" within that SUPER OFF...
  10. Chevy Volt Buying/Selling Tax Credit & Fees
My work has a free to use charger for us, so I would always fill up when at work. I'm in Florida, so almost all flat-land and warm most of the year. Only snows when pigs fly, so very rarely. I'm considering a used 16/17 Volt, with a roundtrip commute of 56 miles (60% town/40% highway). In your...
  11. Chevy Volt Buying/Selling Tax Credit & Fees
Hello everyone, I'll be purchasing a used Volt and am trying to decide between a 2015 or 2016-17.Most important factors are reliability and range. Either way I'll be getting a fully loaded model with 35K miles or less. My daily commute is 43 miles round trip, cannot charge at work. I live in...
  12. Generation 2 Chevy Volt (2016-2019)
Nine months of ownership for my 2018. When the weather was warm, my electric range after charging said 63-65 miles. Now the weather is cold (30s and 40s) and it's dropped to 45 miles. I expected a drop-off but that seems pretty big. Is that normal? Thanks, all.

Hi, I am based in the UK where we have 218 remaining Volts on the road (and a few more Opel Amperas). I got mine at a insurance auction after it was hit in the rear. Nothing a body jack and a hot air gun couldnt fix. I love it. I get 40+ miles on a charge - even seen 53 once. I have been...

  15. Generation 2 Chevy Volt (2016-2019)
I'm considering buying a PHEV to save gas money for my daily commute: My drive is 21.7 miles, 18.0 miles of which is on a fairly-flat 65mph highway (75mph average speed). I have access to a level-2 charger at work for 3-hours max/day. Despite searching multiple forums and websites, I can't seem...
  16. Suggestions for GM - Chevy Volt
Taking limitations into consideration, for me, I'd say 1/3 electric 2/3 gas, for example, 100 miles electric; 200 miles gas. I think 50/50 too. I'd even go for 100 miles electric range; 100 miles gas range.

  19. Generation 1 Chevy Volt (2011-2015)
Hi Volt community. I got my 2014 metallic silver volt from Carvana about a month ago. I am obsessed. I love this car. I have noticed that after a full charge, the electric range keeps getting higher and higher. The car is rated to get 38 miles per full charge, but most recently it's showing 46...
