  1. Carmax said there were no recalls! The dealer just performed TWO!

    Generation 1 Volt (2011-2015)
One week after picking up my new 2015 Volt Premium from Carmax (where they said in writing that it had NO outstanding recalls), I had 2 of them taken care of at my local dealer. I brought it in because the MyChevrolet APP said that it had a Liftgate Strut Rod Detach #14274 recall. When I picked...
  2. Replacement hooks for rear hatch

Newcomers to GM-VOLT.COM (See here for FAQs)
What is the actual name for the four hooks that hold the spandex cover over the rear hatch? And how do I remove and replace them? I just broke one while fooling around with my VoltShelf and would like to swap one of the good-but-unused front hooks for the broken back hook. Can I buy a pack...
  3. Hatch latch not catching?

    Generation 2 Volt (2016-2020)
Has anyone else with a 16/17 had problems getting the trunk to latch? I don't want to slam the trunk so hard I shatter the windows (or generally abuse the car or make noise), but if I don't, about 90% of the time it doesn't completely latch and I get a notice when I start the car.
  4. 2017 Volt hatchback and being short?

    Generation 2 Volt (2016-2020)
Hello all, this is my first post, so gentle! I've been a 2010 Prius driver for afew years and one thing has always bothered me about it. That is the hatch opens so high a short person like me cannot close it by just reaching up, no way no how. Not to mention opening the hatch in a garage can...
  5. Is LED replacement light globe for inside rear hatch area possible?

    Chevy Volt Accessories and Modifications
In the interests of reducing power consumption with the hatch Open... Has any one successfully replaced there normal globe with an LED version and still retained all warning functions etc.? Ie: Don't want update to LED and cause a number of possible issues if the circuit is expecting a normal...
  6. 2014 Hatch Release Delay BUG

    Chevy Volt Engineering and Design
Last November my lease ended on my 2012 Volt. I replaced my 2012 Volt with a 2014 Volt. I have discovered a very annoying software behavior that I consider to be a BUG in the 2014 model. As we know the Volt has a very convenient automatic lock feature that locks the doors 15 seconds after...
  7. Square hole in hatch? Also, hatch closing problem

Problems, Driver Warnings or DTCs - Chevy Volt
When I got my Volt about 10 months ago, the hatch worked *fine.* However, I was bugged by poor fit of the interior plastic panels around the lower rear window: they were bulging in over the lower window like they were too big for the area. I eventually took my Volt into the dealer last month...
  8. Broken Rear Hatch Glass Panel

Chevy Volt General Discussion, News, and Events
Hello, new to the site. I've been searching around and haven't found anyone as lucky and skilled as myself who managed to break the small glass panel that is in between the tail lights on a Volt. I fortunately only seem to have damaged the small glass panel and the rest of the hatch looks...
  9. Large number of cabin, steering, and hatch noises dealer can't fix, out of patience

    Generation 1 Volt (2011-2015)
Anyone else experienced anything like the following or have any advice? I love the Volt, but... my 2012 Volt has a large number of cabin, steering, and hatch noises the dealer can't fix, and I am out of patience and tired of wasting time after taking it in for 5-6 services over the last...
  10. Careful When There's Snow on the Hatch!

    Generation 1 Volt (2011-2015)
This may be common sense, but this morning, there was about an inch or two of snow on my Volt's hatch - enough such that I could open it without cleaning it off. I opened it, it seemed to stay up, so I reached in to get what I needed, and a few seconds later the hatch came down on my head...
  11. Rear Hatch Tie Down

Suggestions for GM - Chevy Volt
If you want to carry any item that will need to stick out the back of the hatch, there is no place on the hatch itself to tie the hatch down. A loop or a place through which one could pass a rope would be most convenient. A rope can go through the trunk latch on the car itself, but the only...
