  1. Problems, Driver Warnings or DTCs - Gen 2 Volt
Hey all, So every time I try to fill up, the pump clicks off right after it starts pumping. I've tried multiple pumps and it keeps happening. I don't have any CEL's. What could be causing this? Thanks for any help.
  2. Use, Care & Maintenance - Gen 2 Chevy Volt
Hi Folks, new guy here, 2018 Volt, 11000 miles total, 1800 on gas. Last gas was put in car before purchase, probably December 2020. 3/4 tank left. Average driving now is about 25 miles per day, pure electric. Questions: Should I run the tank down using Maintain, in order to fill with...
  3. Generation 1 Chevy Volt (2011-2015)
Hi -- not to start a firestorm, but I just came across my first local gas station with a "blender" pump offering e15, e30 and e85 ethanol/gasoline fuel. I have manually mixed 50/50 88 octane e15 with standard 93 octane Premium before (to = approx. 91 octane) at another station. But this is the...
  4. Generation 1 Chevy Volt (2011-2015)
I got my 2015 Volt from the dealer with 3/4 of a tank full. I have no idea if the fuel is 91 AKI or not. I don't trust the flunkies at the dealership to realize that it requires premium. I've heard that the Volt can detect the lower grade fuel and adjust the timing, but is there any way for me...
  5. ? Buying, Selling, Tax Credit, Fees - Chevy Volt
Although the chevy site does not say anything nor does the chargepoint site say anything, it looks like anyone in Virginia who bought a volt during 2015 can get a $750 tax credit. Thanks to my wife for finding this and jeff_h for helping to investigate. See the following 2 links: Section 8...
  6. Chevy Volt News, Events
I thought I would start up the discussion again due to current market conditions. I live in the Chicago area. BP has the big oil refinery in the area here that feeds all the different brands of gasoline. About 9 months ago or so, they had a breakdown that caused the gas prices to shoot up for...
  7. Chevy Volt News, Events
This topic pops up every few months or so on this forum. This is a link to a blog I follow (among others) for DIY tips for my ICE-powered vehicle. Bottom line: Read (and follow) your owner's manual. The author is a mechanical engineer, not a petroleum or automotive engineer, that just happens...
  8. Newcomers, Owner Stories, FAQs
I expect to be buying a new Volt sometime in June. Most of my driving is going to be in town and I don't have a commute as I work from home (semi-retired). So, the only time I would be using gas is if I plan a trip out of town (other than the engine maintenance mode). It seems a waste to me to...
  9. Generation 1 Chevy Volt (2011-2015)
Hi everyone - taking the Volt on a road trip, about 500 miles each way. Should be able to do at least some limited charging when we get to our destination, but obviously not much on the road (might hit a Cracker Barrel though). What's the best strategy for maximizing fuel economy - should I...
  10. Chevy Volt News, Events
http://reviews.cnet.com/8301-13746_7-20054356-48.html "Chevy Volt vehicle line director Tony Posawatz has lots of practice ekeing the most out of his Volt's 16 kWh battery, and says that even during Michigan's cold winter months he's achieved high mileage using battery power alone. While he...
