  1. New owner of 2013 Volt. Any pointers for the new guy?

    Generation 1 Volt (2011-2015)
Hi, I just purchased a used 2013 Volt for my commuter car. I drive approx 46 miles each way to work. About 32 highway, and 14 city. I live in mild climate, in the San Francisco Bay Area. I'm overwhelmed by the different ways people drive these cars and was hoping someone could give me some...
  2. Just got a 2013. Drive Mode button -- does nothing?

Problems, Driver Warnings or DTCs - Chevy Volt
I just bought a 2013 Volt but the Drive Mode button doesn't do anything. Am I missing something? Does the car have to be running/not running/charging/not charging? I need to go on a longish trip tomorrow and wanted to experiment with using Mountain Mode to preserve battery for the end of the trip.
  3. 2015 Volt, brand new, Drive mode button issues?

    Generation 1 Volt (2011-2015)

  4. Power Gauge readout changes when switching drive mode

    Electrical Systems - Chevy Volt
Yesterday during a longer road trip I noticed that my power gauge readout changed when I switched drive modes. I was going constant speed at 67MPH (Cruise control set) on a straight and level highway in MOUNTAIN MODE. The Power gauge showed 13KWh. The battery was at 50% charge level. I switched...
  5. Drive Mode Button placement too near On-Off Button

Suggestions for GM - Chevy Volt
Imo the drive-mode switch (normal, sport, mountain, hold) ought to be nowhere near the on off. For example, supposed you're surprised by a steep climb, know your trip is over 40 miles anyway, and decide to do your climb on gas. You're already rolling 60 mph in impatient traffic. In traffic...
