  1. '17 Premier: 17-Month Ownership Update

    Generation 2 Volt (2016-2020)
Took delivery in early July 2016, and besides a couple of software updates, I've experienced three issues all covered under warranty over the 24k miles I've driven. The 12-volt battery died. This was the worst problem because it wouldn't start and had to be flatbedded to dealer. Then, the...
  2. Hook phone to external antenna

    Chevy Volt Accessories and Modifications
My 2014 volt doesn't have the option for LTE. So was curious if anybody attached a normal phone to the external antenna. It would be nice to get some use out of it for an old cell phone. I have a plan for my iPad and plenty of archaic phones to rig up to the car itself. It could theoretically...
  3. Roof Antenna snapped off at Car Wash

Care, Maintenance & Service - Chevy Volt
Carwash got the antenna on my 14. I have a replacement on the way. Right now there are two hex nuts showing. Broken antenna has no nut in the center, just a white center. Will I be removing one or both of the roof base nuts to put the new one on the car?
  4. Anyone install a Cell Signal Amplifier yet?

    Generation 2 Volt (2016-2020)

  5. AM radio reception is degrading

Problems, Driver Warnings or DTCs - Chevy Volt
2012 with 23k miles... Satellite and FM reception is fine, but there's a lot of static on AM lately. I cannot find a problem with the antenna. There are no electronic accessories in the car that might be creating interference. The problem persists when the car is "off" but the radio is "on"...
  6. Car wash broke off antenna

Care, Maintenance & Service - Chevy Volt
Today I took my Volt through a touch less car wash. As I was exiting the dryer, the high power blower snapped my antenna off. 1) Is it needed to upload diagnostics to GM? 2) This is a warning to other drivers that even a touch less car wash can damage your antenna. An old thread here discusses...
