To start with.
Lets say you are interested in hooking up a 1000W 12V DC to 120V AC inverter to your chevy volt. Of course this is possible and has been done.
The question, is it possible to parallel the 12V systems of two same year Volts into one larger say 2000W inverter? Would a...
After almost 8 months and about 10,000 miles, I finally swapped out the GFCI outlet that I'd been using to charge my 2017 Volt. Replacing it with a normal outlet has completely eliminated the sporadic and annoying habit it used to have of intermittently interrupting the charging due to a "ground...
The L1 Charger...keep the lease one or the one from my "new" used 2013 Volt?
I have to return my 2013 lease shortly (base Volt). It's been a great car, but USBank wanted too much for it for me to buy it from them.
Instead, I purchased a used 2013 Volt (with upgrades); it had two...
Replacing Garage Outlet **Updated** Help?
See Post #20 Please -- Updated with a new problem
Last night, I noticed some browning around the outlet plug holes where I plug in my volt at night. I am going to get an outlet after work today and replace it immediately. I have been looking around...
It says unless you manually program the car "each" time you charge and choose the 12 amp 10 hour charge option. Is this true?
Having some trouble with the new 120V charger. Solid green light on left, flashing red on right.
I took it to the dealer, who told me:
charger works fine for them
the charger must NOT be plugged into a GFI outlet
The 2012 Volt owner's manual says the opposite. My electrician tells...
Does anyone know what the "minimum" and "maximum" input voltage requirement for the Volt standard 120V charger is? The User Manual indicates that (section 9-52) it is 120V/15Amp minimum. Is that true "technical" minimum? I have NO problem charging at home and work with the standard wall...
Is it? In either case the voltage has to be boosted to reach a voltage level of about 300V+ in order to charge the battery. Boosting voltage always entails losses but since 240V charging doesn't have to go as far, one might conclude that the losses would be less.
I have the 120v charger that came with my Volt mounted in my garage for convenience. It's a snap for me to plug the car in when I pull up next to the charger.
I'd like to have a second charger that I can carry around in the car so that I'd be able to plug in at friend's homes when I visit. I've...
Have been reading this blog for a little while. This blog plus the test drive, along with a load of reviews, convinced me to get a Volt. Put my deposit down and pick up a black on black one on Friday (hopefully).
I had a quick question that I couldn't find an answer for in the...
I currently live in an apartment complex. I doubt I will have a place for Level 2 charging for several years.
I would like the ability to purchase a 2nd level 1 EVSE charger and keep one in the trunk for "away-from-home" charging.
I can't locate an extra L1 charger at...
