I was at Home Depot with a dryer cord in hand (3 prong 10-30, 10g), looking for a receptacle to receive the charger cord plug, but found the insulated 3 wire ends too thick and unwieldy to fit any of the available 5-15 receptacles in stock. Since some on this thread have successfully made adapters using 10g wire, please let me know with what components that was accomplished.
      Thanks.
      I used the following:

      successfully with these two cables:

I tested with the dryer cord first because it's the one off my existing dryer and I wanted to confirm 240V with my EVSE before buying the more expensive RV extension cord to hack (cheaper than buying the STW cable by the foot). Both cables took some force to get through the rubber grommet on the 20A NEMA 5-15R part, but it was doable. The only difficult part with using the flat dryer cord was it didn't fit through the rubber grommet. Separating the individual conductors made it much easier.

The hardest part is cutting/stripping the individual conductors just right so they can fit into the screw-down terminals in the 5-15R. Even then, the clearance on the screw-down terminals was so tight and getting 10AWG stranded wire into them will be frustrating as you'll inevitably catch a strand on something and have to re-twist the wire bundle. Should've tinned them in hindsight.

Basically all you need is a 240 volt dryer cord with a regular 5-15 120 volt receptacle attached to it. You may need a 3-prong or 4- prong cord depending on your outlet type. OK, let’s see what Home Depot has:

I used very similar parts for mine. Working great for the last 2 1/2 years.
