The outlet will already be weatherproof. That is standard procedure. I'm concerned about the portable charger itself. I like the idea of a rubbermaid container or toolbox screwed to the building. That might be an option. I should have also stated I need to keep my portable charger portable, at least until I can get a L2 charger installed at home so locking the charger in a toolbox won't quite cut it.
That would protect the outlet, but it's not large enough to protect the entire EVSE.
