      Sorry but I don't agree with EITHER of those tidbits of wisdom.

      Then for the cord, 12 gauge should be fine for anything that the "standard" charger can do.
      And if you leave it on the low default setting, that would be WELL below the rated capacity for the cord.

      I have a vacuum cleaner that (supposedly) draws 12 amps and it has a 14 ga. cord.
      It gets just barely warm and only near the outlet.
      I have been using a 12/3 25' extenson cord for 2 years now and have never had an issue. It also has never felt warm to the touch.

      I keep it wrapped up in the left storage compartment int back back where the fuses are.
