What the hell, GM? Before you know it, the concept camero will end up looking like a Ford Taurus. Do you guys design amazing concepts and destroy them intentionally?? Why don't you manufacture the original concept and market it to the "younger than 100" crowd?
Slap a Buick emblem on this one...

Agreed that the concept is quite different than the production car, but we should remember that they are likely trying to reduce the cost of manufacturing (and maximizing profitability).
Personally, I like the production version - it looks like the current Honda Civic (less the long nose) which I happen to like since I own one.
If you want cars that go straight from crazy concept to production, go to Chrysler.
I think sales of this car will take off - if anyone has seen the documentary "Who killed the electric car?" they will know how well the EV1 was recieved (and subsequently pried from the tight grip of consumers when leases expired and GM sent them all to the crusher). I wish I could buy an EV1 today, the Volt might be my chance to have something similar.

:( After such imense expectations we are presented with this design. Are we stuck in design time-warp? Why do we have more cars than people in developed world and every single one looks the same? I think I'm going to save more money and buy one from Tesla Motors. Or wait for an Air Car at theaircar.com

I am so very disapointed, I have been waiting patiently for the volt to come out and now with this new design I'm not sure I still want to buy one. It has no style and it just looks like a plain jane. WHAT THE HELL DID YOU GUYS AT GM DO TO SUCH A BRILLANT CAR! Fools I say fools. Dyan
