The U.S. Senate on Thursday voted to extend tax credits for wind-power and solar-energy projects (88 - 8):

However, many feel it won’t pass because it will add to the national debt. Funny how this tiny amount of money, 6 billion dollars over 10 years is going to effect our multi trillion dollar national debt. Personally, I feel this is one of the few industries that will help get us out of debt and stop the flow of over 1 billion dollars a DAY for imported oil.

Anyway, they also say:

"While the Senate Democrats have reportedly given ground by dropping plans to finance the renewable-energy tax breaks by taking away tax breaks from oil companies, the talks appear to have reached an impasse.”

It’s silly to stop the tax breaks that the oil companies are getting or even consider a compromise on this useless issue. <cough>

Well, the good news is that our new anti-submarine plane, the P-8A Poseidon, is in final assembly at Boeing and us tax payers can now purchase 108 of these fine aircraft. Now what do we need 108 aircraft that are capable of blowing up submarines is beyond my comprehension but I'm sure there’s a good reason.

Sometimes I can't even believe what America is doing or not doing. Then again if we didn’t do the cute things we do there wouldn’t be nearly enough material for the world’s late night shows and comedy acts. Right? Hey, we are helping to bring the world together through laughter!

Don't get your panties in a bunch. Let the political process work itself out, something will get to the presidents desk, and it will more likely be better than nothing.

As for anti-submarine planes, did you see the rocket powered torpedo that Iran demonstrated a year ago? It will be necessary to keep all submarines very far away from our fleets, should those types of weapons become prolific.

Yeah, like I said, there had to be a good reason! 108 planes to protect our fleets from Iran. :) Now don't get YOUR panties in a bunch. I'm guessing you meant if OTHER countries perfected the rocket powered torpedo. Right?

Yep, that's the kind of thinking that goes on here in America folks. Protect our fleets from future rocket powered torpedoes or spend 1/10 of the cost to support alternative forms of energy that could eventually eliminate our need of imported oil. Tough decisions going on over here. ;)
