What does everyone think? Good? Bad?

Will it hurt the alternative fuel drive America is in now?

Dam that well-dressed oil minister from Iran & his Armani suit!!!
Those Iranians are ruining everything!!!
They're nothing but ruining ruiners that like to ruin everything.
I see now why we should attack them.

Sorry, I forgot to switch off the sarcasmic amplifier in my first reply to this thread.
Anyways, I would guess that Saudi Arabia's departure from OPEC would be a good thing.
Seeing as how OPEC for the most part is a monopoly, the Saudi's going solo now introduces competition.
I mean, is'nt that what its all about? The free market & competition?

Yeah, but isn't old oil supposed to go bad or something?
Like if you leave it out in the sun to long? Someone told me it turns into Vaseline™ or something like that.

It seems like Saudi Arabia wants to flood the market with oil to bring down prices so we can all forget about conservation and alternative energy. The other OPEC nations don't want prices down because they've all just bought new palaces and need to make the mortgage payments. That's what I get out of this anyway.

I think we should stop by the Arabian Peninsula on the way back from victory in Iraq. And liberate the land from some "chiefs" and turn it over to the foreign workers that run the place and turn it into the 51st state, or make it a county in Texas. Think of the solar opportunities there.....

Hoorah marines let's go change some mutha****in regimes up in this desert we'll be back for apple pie in no time! I do hope your "victory in Iraq" comment was a joke, but considering how casually it's thrown around by the Republicans you can never tell. Even under Obama's withdrawal plan there will be up to 80,000 troops still living in permanent mega-bases in Iraq indefinitely to protect the oil pipelines. If McCain wins get ready for a draft cause he apparently doesn't want to reduce troop numbers at all!

Let's talk about OPEC though. Boy do those Saudi Princes love to race fancy cars in the desert and crash and die. Check out this semi-related youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=42xvZVJfwBY

That's food for thought. I bet it will go down something like this:

Europe is going to need serious amounts of energy resources once the oil game is over. They don't have anywhere near the solar and wind resources we have. How are they going to compete? Well, at first they won't. They will be buying expensive liquid hydrogen and biofuels from around the world while we laugh all the way to the bank. They will then get this great idea... The Crusades. Just look a little south of Europe and bask in all of that beautiful desert land that is baked in sun most of the year.

Once the oil reserves of the Middle East are drained to the point that the countries living there are severely weakened it might be time for an orcastrated war. Yeah, that's the ticket. Some terrorist attack that "forces" a religious war to save our souls! Of course the spoils of the war would include all of that beautiful sun soaked lands. Hummmm.

In our resent past there were wars over oil and soon there will be war over deserts. I guess that's how it has always been and will always be - the constant struggle over resources and land (It's not PC to put women in that list).

Note: This scenario is purely fictional as well as being sarcastic.

I'm going to have to fire my editor. Unfortunately, she's easy on the eyes and makes a great cup of coffee. ;)

Since you finally said something that had a hint of thought behind it I won't retaliate by correcting every stupid spelling or grammar mistake you make. It's enough effort just correcting your logic and technical mistakes! ;)
